Softball Game Preview: Hayesville Yellowjackets vs. Swain County Maroon Devils

Hayesville hasn't had much luck against Swain County recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Yellowjackets will be playing at home against the Maroon Devils at 4:30 p.m. Hayesville has given up an average of 12.7 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hayesville came up short against Hiwassee Dam on Friday, falling 16-6.

Hayesville saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Micalynn McClure, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. McClure is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Lucy Trout was another, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, Swain County waltzed into their matchup on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 14-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Maroon Devils, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Hayesville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Swain County, their win bumped their record up to 13-2.
