Basketball Recap: Chanute Christian Comes Up Short

Chanute Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the El Dorado Christian Buffalos 41-14. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against Chanute Christian this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 41-20 back in November of 2024.

McKenzie Cole was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds for El Dorado Christian. That makes it four consecutive games in which Cole has scored at least a third of El Dorado Christian's points. Sadie Watkins was another key player, putting up nine points.

Chanute Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for El Dorado Christian, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6.

Chanute Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Newton HomeSchool at 2:00 p.m. on February 8th. As for El Dorado Christian, they will host Christian Learning Center at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
