Volleyball Recap: Columbia Gets the Win

Columbia's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Mattamuskeet Lakers 3-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Columbia was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-18, 25-27, 25-19, 15-12.

Columbia's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Mattamuskeet, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Coming up, Columbia will challenge New Life Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mattamuskeet, they will face off against Ocracoke at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
