Baseball Game Preview: Clairemont Chieftains vs. La Jolla Vikings

For the second straight game, Clairemont will face off against La Jolla. The Chieftains will head out on the road to challenge the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Clairemont will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Clairemont barely beat La Jolla the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Chieftains' pitcher stepped up to hand the Vikings a 6-0 shutout on Tuesday. Six seems to be a good number for the Chieftains as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Colton Daudet made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

In other batting news, Diego Matsumoto was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI.

Clairemont's win bumped their record up to 18-6. As for La Jolla, their loss dropped their record down to 15-11.
