Baseball Recap: Lawrence Comes Up Short

Lawrence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lawrence Free State Firebirds. The Lions were not able to make up for their defeat to the Firebirds from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Lawrence's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Lawrence Free State, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-2.

While Lawrence had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Monday.
