Recap: Raleigh Charter Phoenix vs. Falls Lake Firebirds
The Raleigh Charter Phoenix lost against the Falls Lake Firebirds back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Raleigh Charter took a 58-39 bruising from Falls Lake. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Raleigh Charter in their matchups with Falls Lake: they've now lost six in a row.
Emerson Thompson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Falls Lake, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 14 rebounds. Thompson is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Madisyn Shedd was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Raleigh Charter has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Falls Lake, their win bumped their record up to 16-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Raleigh Charter will take on East Wake Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Falls Lake, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on NCSSM: Durham at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th.
