Football Recap: Alhambra Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Friday just wasn't the day for Alhambra's offense. They took a blow against the El Monte Lions on Friday, falling 40-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Moors of the 29-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Bryan Leonard threw for 89 yards on ten of 17 attempts. Nero Navarro was his top target, picking up 50 receiving yards. On the ground, Halen Tsang rushed for 71 yards.

El Monte got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Aaron Rivera out in front who rushed for 193 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Those 193 rushing yards gave Rivera a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Aleman, who threw for 261 yards and three TDs.

Alhambra's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for El Monte, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alhambra will welcome Temple City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for El Monte, they will face off against San Gabriel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
