Basketball Recap: Portage Christian Comes Up Short

Portage Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 33rd straight loss dating back to last season. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 59-13 to the Trinity Greenlawn Titans, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against Portage Christian this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-13 last Wednesday.

Trinity Greenlawn's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nathan Palmer, who went 6 of 12 en route to 14 points. Palmer is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ian Abbott, who posted ten points.

Portage Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Trinity Greenlawn, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Portage Christian has already played their next game (against Clinton Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Trinity Greenlawn will host Lakeland Christian Academy at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Trinity Greenlawn's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while Lakeland Christian Academy has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
