Baseball Recap: Lake Norman Charter Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Lake Norman Charter and East Rowan squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Lake Norman Charter had to settle for second. They took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 7-1 loss back in April.

Jordan Callahan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was David Wignot, who went 2-for-5 with one run and one RBI.

Lake Norman Charter's loss dropped their record down to 13-11. As for East Rowan, they pushed their record up to 25-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

Lake Norman Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for East Rowan, they will square off against North Lincoln on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mustangs 3.7, the Knights 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
