Softball Game Preview: Mount Pleasant Tigers vs. West Rowan Falcons

Mount Pleasant hasn't had much luck against West Rowan recently, but that could start to change on Monday. Mount Pleasant will be playing in front of their home fans against West Rowan at 6:00 p.m. Mount Pleasant will be strutting in after a win while West Rowan will be coming in after a loss.

Mount Pleasant's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Albemarle 15-0. Considering the Tigers have won five contests by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for West Rowan's offense. They came up short against East Rowan on Friday, falling 6-0. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

West Rowan saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reese Poole, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Mount Pleasant is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. West Rowan's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 5-3.
