Basketball Recap: Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas Comes Up Short

Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas lost against The Meadows School back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas Falcons took a blow against The Meadows School Mustangs, falling 68-39. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas still got an impressive performance from Jayden Aranas, who posted 11 points and six boards. Aranas is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 31 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Elliott, who put up seven points.

The Meadows School found their leader in sophomore Uzo Nwapa, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds. Nwapa has become a key player for The Meadows School: the team is 8-3 when he posts at least ten boards, but 3-4 otherwise. Grant Moses was another key player, putting up 15 points in addition to six assists and six steals.

Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas' defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-9. As for The Meadows School, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7.

Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 58-56 victory against Sports Leadership & Management on the 16th. The Meadows School has also already played their next game (against Pahrump Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
