Basketball Recap: Box Elder Comes Up Short

Box Elder lost against Dodson back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Box Elder Bears took a 46-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dodson Coyotes.

Dodson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Precious Stiffarm out in front who posted 16 points. The dominant performance gave Stiffarm a new career-high in points. Cyrie Spotted Wolf was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Box Elder's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Dodson, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-8.

Box Elder and Dodson could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Montana Rankings. Box Elder will face off against Big Sandy at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday down 95 places (103 vs. 8). Similarly, Dodson (ranked 131st) will meet Circle (ranked 22nd) at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
