High Point Central lost against Atkins back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The High Point Central Bison lost 24-8 to the Atkins Camels. Cameron McGowens stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored three runs and stole seven bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Tiffany Feggins, who scored two runs and stole six bases while going 2-for-3.

On Atkins' side, Aniston Pennington made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Pennington was even better at the plate, scoring five runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5.

In other batting news, Lily Anderson was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Ava Fleming, who went 3-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and a triple.
