Baseball Recap: Carmel Comes Up Short

Carmel extended their losing streak to eight on Monday, dropping their season record down to 4-15 in the process. They fell 4-1 to the Arlington Admirals. The Rams were not able to make up for their defeat to the Admirals from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Carmel saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Casey Lowndes, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

As for Arlington, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games.

On Arlington's side, Christian Anderson was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI. DJ Mulvany was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Looking ahead, Carmel will take on Greeley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Arlington, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 14-0 victory against Ossining on the 13th.
