Soccer Game Preview: Alexandria City vs. Lake Braddock

The Alexandria City Titans will square off against the Lake Braddock Bruins at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Alexandria City's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against West Springfield as they made off with a 3-0 win. Considering Alexandria City have won three games by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Lake Braddock strolled into their game on April 4th with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against Centreville. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Lake Braddock's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while Centreville are ranked 98th).

Lake Braddock pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matches. As for Alexandria City, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-4.

Alexandria City beat Lake Braddock 2-0 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Do the Titans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bruins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
