Volleyball Recap: Perkins County Comes Up Short

Perkins County lost against Bridgeport back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Plainsmen came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Plainsmen have suffered since September 6th.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-15, 25-13.

Ella Homan paced Perkins County's offense, picking up nine kills. Homan were helped by Kaylynn Macke and Macey Cole, who contributed 11 assists each. Homan was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Leading Bridgeport to victory were Ella Schluterbusch and Claire Eckhardt. Schluterbusch had 14 digs, while Eckhardt had seven digs. That's the most digs Schluterbusch has posted over her last six contests.

Perkins County has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for Bridgeport, the win snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 6-5 record.

Perkins County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Holyoke on the 25th. As for Bridgeport, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Mitchell on the 20th.
