Softball Recap: Kingston Gets the Win

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Kingston brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They walked away with a 21-16 win over the Grandview Eagles on Friday. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 17-16 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Kendal Blumenstock was incredible, going 4-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those hits marked the first that she got this season. Lila Porter was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 4-for-5.

Kingston's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Grandview, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kingston will venture away from home to square off against Bismarck at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Grandview, they will head out to take on Clearwater at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
