Basketball Game Preview: Okanogan Bulldogs vs. Tonasket Tigers

The Okanogan Bulldogs will head out to challenge the Tonasket Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Thursday, everything came up roses for Okanogan against Granger as the squad secured an 85-41 win. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 30 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Tonasket, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They managed a 58-53 victory over Mabton on Thursday.

Tonasket's win came from a few key players Okanogan will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kristian Jones, who shot 6-for-10 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double with 26 points and 13 rebounds. What's more, he also posted a 60% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tanner Tompkins, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten boards.

Tonasket pushed their record up to 15-11 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points over those games. As for Okanogan, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

Okanogan strolled past Tonasket when the teams last played on Tuesday by a score of 78-59. The rematch might be a little tougher for Okanogan since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
