After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Santa Fe Catholic, Frostproof was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Lake Gibson Braves by a score of 9-4. The Bulldogs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Luke Thornton made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Thornton was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also put up a stolen base, which was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Bradley Roberts was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Nico Rybinski, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Frostproof hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Gibson struck out nine times.

The win snapped Frostproof's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-5 record. As for Lake Gibson, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Frostproof will welcome Lake Placid at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lake Gibson, they will face off against Mulberry at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
