Preview: Poly Bears vs. Vista del Lago Ravens
Poly is 0-3 against Vista del Lago since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Poly Bears will be playing at home against the Vista del Lago Ravens at 7:00 p.m. Poly will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
On October 12th, everything went Poly's way against Lakeside as Poly made off with a 37-12 win.
Meanwhile, Vista del Lago can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They claimed a resounding 49-0 victory over Lakeside on the road. Given Vista del Lago's advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while Lakeside is ranked 791st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vista del Lago to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dezmone Woods, who rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Larry Joyce, who threw for 120 yards and two touchdowns while completing 88.9% of his passes.
Their wins bumped Poly to 3-6 and Vista del Lago to 7-2.
Poly might still be hurting after the 42-17 defeat they got from Vista del Lago in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Will Poly have more luck at home instead of on the road?
