Basketball Recap: Anniston Starts Season with Win at Home

Anniston took care of business in their home opener on Saturday. They managed a 38-34 victory over the Pinson Valley Indians.

Pinson Valley's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Raijah Tinsley, who posted eight points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tamia Williams, who put up seven points and three steals.

Pinson Valley's defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Anniston will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Central of Clay County at 6:00 p.m. on the 19th. As for Pinson Valley, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 60-28 win against Fultondale on the 11th.
