Softball Recap: Boyd County Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

While Boyd County put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Conner. The Lions blew past the Cougars 11-0. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Kyli Kouns was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Savanna Henderson, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Boyd County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Conner only posted an OBP of .286.

Boyd County has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Conner, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

Looking ahead, Boyd County will venture away from home to square off against Russell at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Conner, their road trip will continue as they head out to face Frederick Douglass at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Cougars' pitcher better be ready for this one: the Broncos have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
