In other batting news, Schuylkill Haven got a massive performance out of Lexi Mull, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave Mull a new career-high. Danica Snyder was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Schuylkill Haven hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Shenandoah Valley and Panther Valley, and Panther Valley kept the tradition alive. The Blue Devils lost 17-1 to the Panthers on Friday.
Shenandoah Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brynn Burke, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.
Schuylkill Haven now has a winning record of 6-5-1. As for Shenandoah Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.
Shenandoah Valley's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Schuylkill Haven has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. It's a different story for Shenandoah Valley, though, as they've been averaging 10.8 hits. Given Schuylkill Haven's sizable advantage in that area, the Blue Devils will need to find a way to close that gap.
