Baseball Recap: Dundee Has No Trouble Against Madison

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Dundee ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over the Madison Trojans. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Ryan Zanger made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Zanger was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

In other pitching news, Quinton Lephew looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Jay Hickey, who went 1-for-5 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Mason, who got on base in three of his six plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Dundee's record is now 18-11. As for Madison, they moved to 22-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Dundee beat the Trojans by a score of 10-8 on Friday.
