Baseball Game Preview: Community Vikings/Viqueens vs. Richland Raiders

Community is 8-2 against Richland since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Community Vikings/Viqueens are taking a road trip to challenge the Richland Raiders. Community is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

On Friday, Community didn't have quite enough to beat Eagleville and fell 8-6.

Kaleb Maillet put in work no matter where he played. He pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off three hits. Maillet was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Wesley Haley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Richland lost 14-4 to Cascade on Friday. The Raiders have struggled against the Champions recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meetings.

Richland now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Community, their record now sits at 1-4.

Community was able to grind out a solid win over Richland when the teams last played back in March of 2022, winning 8-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for Community since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
