            Baseball Recap: Old Town Coyotes vs. Bangor Rams        
        
		
        
        
            Old Town faced Bangor in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Coyotes fell just short of the Rams by a score of  7-6. The Coyotes have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
 Julian Duty was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He  struck out nine batters over  six innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   five  hits. Duty was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with one  run and one  double. That  double was  his first of the season.
 In other batting news,  Nate Baker was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 2-for-4 with three  RBI, one  stolen base,  and one  run. Another player making a difference was  Ethan Closson, who  got on base  in all four of his plate appearances with two  runs.
Old Town's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Bangor, the  win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Old Town will face off against John Bapst Memorial at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Bangor, they will square off against Oxford Hills at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average (the Rams 3.2, the Vikings 3.5) so any  runs scored will be well earned.
