Basketball Game Preview: Peru Nighthawks vs. Saranac Spartans

Peru hasn't had much luck against Saranac recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Peru Nighthawks will host the Saranac Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, everything came up roses for Peru against Saranac Lake as the squad secured a 57-9 win. The Nighthawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 24 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Saranac had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points) and they went ahead and made it four back in January. They secured a 42-38 W over the Vikings.

Peru's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-3. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.0 points per game. As for Saranac, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.

Peru came out on top in a nail-biter against Saranac in their previous meeting back in January, sneaking past 50-48. Will Peru repeat their success, or does Saranac have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
