Louisville extends home losing streak to 13

The Louisville Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Fort Calhoun 47-16. Louisville was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-4.

Leading Fort Calhoun to victory were Bria Bench and Raeann Massey. Bench scored 12 points along with five steals, while Massey scored 11 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Bench is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. Ansley Elofson was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight rebounds and five steals.

Louisville bumped their record down to 4-11 with that defeat, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.8 points per game. As for Fort Calhoun, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Louisville will take on Douglas County West at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fort Calhoun, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Brownell Talbot.
