Basketball Game Preview: Morgan Mustangs vs. Sumner Stingrays

The Morgan Mustangs will head out to square off against the Sumner Stingrays at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Morgan has given up an average of 70.5 points per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Morgan is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Saturday. They lost 88-64 to Armwood.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sumner). They took down Gulf 74-59 on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Sumner's win came from a few key players Morgan will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Immanuel Kelly, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten boards. Kelly is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least three every time he's taken the court this season. Bennard Anson was another key player, shooting 54% from the field to rack up 18 points along with five assists and three steals.

Morgan's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Sumner, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
