Basketball Recap: Jaxon Sheffler's Big Game Can't Quite Lead El Dorado over Cheney + How To Watch

El Dorado was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 82-71 to the Cheney Cardinals. The Wildcats lost against the Cardinals in their previous head to head back in December of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 90-32 score last time.

El Dorado's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaxon Sheffler, who went 6-for-7 en route to 12 points. Jase Peffly was another key player, shooting 67% from the field to rack up 15 points.

El Dorado's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Cheney, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, El Dorado will take on Trinity in a tournament on Saturday. Cheney has already played their next game (against Chaparral), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
