League recap: League standings in flux as Enochs jumps, Gregori drops

Modesto Metro league recap: 3/13/13

Enochs made the biggest jump in the standings this week, moving from third to first place in Modesto Metro thanks to a 2-2 record over the past seven days. Meanwhile, Gregori fell hardest in the standings, dropping from second all the way to fourth place after going 0-3 in the past week.

Top honors in the league this week go to the Eagles, which finished with two wins overall, good for best in the league. Enochs beat Truckee 9-5 and Lowry 17-5.

Enochs' pitchers have displayed incredible control over the past week and all season, giving up just three walks over the past seven days and three on the year, both No. 1 in the league.

The league boasted three .400 hitters over the past week. They were led by Konner Miller, who hit .429 this week (3-for-7).

Modesto's Luke Nyhoff led the league in strikeouts this week with eight. With 15 strikeouts this year so far, he ranks first in the league.



Nikko Delgado drove in five runners as Enochs defeated the Buckaroos 17-5 on Friday. He went 1-for-5 and scored two runs.

Nyhoff struck out eight in Sonora's 6-5 win over the Panthers on March 7. Over his seven innings pitched he allowed six runs on six hits.
