Baseball Recap: Edisto Triumphs

Edisto proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by eight) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Williston-Elko Blue Devils 5-4. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 9-8 win the Blue Devils walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.

The team relied heavily on Max Dempsey, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Another player making a difference was Bennie Ulmer, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Edisto was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory got Edisto back to even at 2-2. As for Williston-Elko, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Edisto is taking a road trip to challenge Non Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Williston-Elko, they will take on Jefferson Davis Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
