Baseball Recap: Moon Valley Takes a Loss

Moon Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the Greenway Demons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Demons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 last Tuesday.

Edwin Terrazas-Beltran was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. John Lowndes was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Moon Valley's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Greenway, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Moon Valley will host Dysart at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rockets are facing the Demons at the right time seeing as the Demons are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Greenway, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Prescott at 3:00 p.m.
