Football Recap: Newport - Bellevue Starts Season with Loss at Home

Newport - Bellevue unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were outmatched by the Lake Washington Kangaroos and fell 38-7. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Kangaroos recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Ronin Holmes went supernova For Lake Washington., rushing for 180 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per carry. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Holmes a new career-high.

Coming up, Newport - Bellevue will look to defend their home field on Friday against Sammamish at 7:00 p.m. As for Lake Washington, they will head out to take on Jackson at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
