Basketball Game Preview: Denton Broncos vs. Grapevine Mustangs

Denton is 2-7 against Grapevine since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. It'll be an old-fashioned rodeo when the Denton Broncos duke it out with the Grapevine Mustangs at 7:15 p.m. Denton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.8 points per game this season.

Last Friday, Denton earned a 73-65 win over Richland.

It was another big night for Ethan Sheats, who posted 21 points. His evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Brown, who earned 14 points.

Meanwhile, Grapevine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 50-40 to Argyle. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 444th, while the Eagles are ranked 200th).

Denton's victory bumped their record up to 14-12. As for Grapevine, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-16.
