Softball Recap: Lincoln-Way Central Gets the Win

The Lincoln-Way Central Knights narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Edwardsburg Eddies 3-2.

Brooke Seppi spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mia Degliomini, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ellie McLaughlin, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Lincoln-Way Central's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Edwardsburg, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-3 record.

Looking ahead, Lincoln-Way Central is taking a road trip to face off against Lake Central at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Edwardsburg, they will head out to take on Franklin Central at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
