Softball Recap: Mohawk Area Warriors vs. Hampton Talbots
Mohawk Area extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 11-7. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hampton Talbots. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Talbots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.
Addy Moskal made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Kaitlyn Hare also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
As for Hampton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games.
On Hampton's side, Marissa Snyder made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Snyder has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Snyder wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Josie Fritsch, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.
As of now, neither Mohawk Area nor Hampton have any future games scheduled.
