Basketball Recap: Jaron Fields' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Braden River over Southeast

Braden River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 76-54 to the Southeast Seminoles. The Pirates were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Seminoles earlier this season, when they won 69-53.

Braden River's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaron Fields, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 15 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Quentin Smith, who made all 5 shots he took to post 11 points and six rebounds.

Southeast's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamarri Bivens, who went 9 of 14 on his way to 23 points in addition to five assists and three steals. The contest was Bivens' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jalen Byrd, who dropped a triple-double on 13 points, ten rebounds, and ten blocks.

Braden River's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Southeast, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 9-4.

As for Southeast, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Lakewood Ranch at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Southeast's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matches.
