Football Game Preview: Odem vs. Monte Alto

Odem will challenge Monte Alto on the road at 7:30 PM on Friday. Odem don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.

Odem might be getting used to good results now that the squad has six wins in a row. They came out on top against Hebbronville by a score of 28-14 last Friday. Senior Rudy Pizana was the offensive standout of the match for Odem, as he rushed for 89 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Meanwhile, there's no need to mince words: Monte Alto lost to Santa Rosa, and they lost bad. The score wound up at 0-68. The state rankings had actually given Monte Alto a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.

Odem took the matchup and then some with a 59-7 win over Monte Alto the last time the two teams met. Will Odem repeat their success, or does Monte Alto have a better game plan this time around ? We'll find out soon enough.
