Softball Game Preview: Middletown Blue Raiders vs. East Pennsboro Panthers

The Middletown Blue Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the East Pennsboro Panthers at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.

Last Friday, Middletown came up short against Donegal and fell 11-6. The Blue Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Journee Stover and Ja'Liyah Stover did some serious damage despite the final result: Journee went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI, while Ja'Liyah scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Delaney Fitzpatrick, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Pennsboro). Their pitchers stepped up to hand Harrisburg a 25-0 shutout on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Panthers needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

East Pennsboro's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.7 runs over those games. As for Middletown, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Middletown skirted past East Pennsboro 4-3 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Does Middletown have another victory up their sleeve, or will East Pennsboro turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
