Volleyball Recap: Kennedy Gets the Win

Kennedy took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Gateway, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Commanders skirted past the Olympians 3-2. This was payback for the Commanders, who suffered a 3-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Kennedy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 24-26, 25-20, 25-20, 15-10.

Kennedy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-5. As for Gateway, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-9.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Kennedy will challenge rival Denver West at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Gateway is set to square off against their familiar foe KIPP Denver Collegiate at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
