             The Murrah Mustangs will venture away from home to  face off against the Jefferson County Tigers  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one:  both  posted some lofty  point totals in their previous games.
 Jefferson County is hoping to do what Forest Hill couldn't  on Thursday: put an end to Murrah's winning streak (dating back to last season), which now stands at four games. Murrah breezed by Forest Hill at home  to the tune of  34-6. The  match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached  21-0.
 Murrah got their  victory on the backs of several key players, but it was  Justyce Williams out in front who threw for 134 yards and two touchdowns. That's the most  rushing yards  Williams has posted since  back in September of 2023.
 Meanwhile,  everything went Jefferson County's way against Crystal Springs on Friday as Jefferson County made off with  a  42-20 win.
  Royale Shelvy was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 186 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, and also threw for 110 yards and two touchdowns. Backing up that air attack was  Jamari Tenner, who rushed for 101 yards and a  rushing touchdown.
 He was just one part of a punishing run game: Jefferson County was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 362  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 241  rushing yards in three consecutive  contests.
 Jefferson County's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of  Gariyon Bailey and  Derrick White.  Jermall Williams was another major factor on D,  picking up  a  sack and making 13 total tackles.
 Murrah pushed their record up to 3-0 with that  victory, which was their fifth straight  at home dating back to last season. As for Jefferson County, they now  have a winning record of 2-1.
 Murrah didn't have too much breathing room in their  matchup against Jefferson County  in their previous meeting  back in September of 2023, but they still walked away with  a  20-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Murrah since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
