Baseball Recap: Legacy Christian Academy Victorious

Legacy Christian Academy's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Emmanuel Christian Academy Lions 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Knights have posted since March 26, 2024.

Jacob Thompson was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Legacy Christian Academy is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-4 otherwise. Thompson was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

Thompson wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Whitt, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Another was David Cancino, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Legacy Christian Academy moved to 4-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Emmanuel Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Emmanuel Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 5-4 loss against Greenon on the 23rd. Hopefully Legacy Christian Academy paid attention to the Lions' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
