Basketball Game Preview: Willow Glen Rams vs. Westmont Warriors

The Willow Glen Rams will square off against the Westmont Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Willow Glen is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Edison just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 55-53. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Rams have suffered since December 9, 2023.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Ryder Ingram, who posted 12 points. Caiden Morefield was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Meanwhile, Westmont waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 67-57. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 166th, while the Mustangs are ranked 541st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Westmont has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.5 points per game. As for Willow Glen, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-6.

Willow Glen didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Westmont when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 61-57 victory.
