Baseball Recap: American Heritage Starts off Right with Win over Merit Preparatory Academy

American Heritage gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Merit Preparatory Academy Knights with a sharp 11-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won six in a row.

Tanner Brockbank made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Brockbank was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Matthew Brady was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Justin Robertson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

American Heritage will have a chance to go back-to-back against Merit Preparatory Academy: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
