Baseball Recap: Overton Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Overton took a 17-run loss the last time they faced off against Kirby, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wolverines had just enough and edged out the Cougars 9-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolverines.

The team relied heavily on Nehemiah Diggs, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Julian Tallent, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Overton pushed their record up to 12-4-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Kirby, they now have a losing record of 6-7.
