Softball Recap: Jamestown Comes Up Short

Jamestown extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-3 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Southwestern Trojans. The Red & Green were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

As for Southwestern, their win ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted against Jamestown since May 9, 2019.

For Southwestern's part, the team relied heavily on Siri Dubois, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits Dubois has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kate Casel, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Jamestown has already played their next matchup (against Maple Grove), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Southwestern, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-8 win against Dunkirk on the 28th.
