Basketball Game Preview: Saline Hornets vs. Huron River Rats

Saline is 2-8 against Huron since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Saline Hornets will look to defend their home court against the Huron River Rats at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Saline is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They took a blow against Bedford, falling 85-54. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 374th, while the Kicking Mules are ranked 182nd).

Meanwhile, Huron unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Wednesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 79-78 to University of Detroit Jesuit. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (73), the River Rats still had to take the loss.

Saline's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Huron, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3.

Saline beat Huron 69-60 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Will Saline repeat their success, or does Huron have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
