Basketball Recap: Green City Piles Up the Points Against Bucklin-Macon County

Green City waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Bucklin-Macon County Bulldogs 74-34. The Gophers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Green City's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lily Crist, who went 10-for-16 to rack up 25 points along with six assists and five steals. Crist has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaryn Hatcher, who almost dropped a triple-double with 15 points, ten rebounds, and nine steals.

Crist wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Green City was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Green City pushed their record up to 21-4 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.3 points. As for Bucklin-Macon County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-10.

As of now, neither Green City nor Bucklin-Macon County have any future games scheduled.
