Soccer Game Preview: Lancaster vs. Highland

The Lancaster Eagles will square off against the Highland Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Lancaster has now lost 11 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 9.

Lancaster is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Knight on Friday. Lancaster fell just short of Knight by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 969th, while the Hawks are ranked 413th).

Meanwhile, Highland kept a clean sheet against Antelope Valley on Friday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Antelopes. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Highland is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-6-1 record this season. As for Lancaster, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13-2.

Lancaster suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Highland in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Lancaster avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
